We are seeking a Data Visualization Specialist to lead the development and maintenance of brand messaging standards for Ukraine's IMSMA Core and information management products. This role involves creating impactful visual content, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring the effective communication of mine action data to support decision-making and visibility in Ukraine. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in Geographic Information Systems, design tools, and effective communication skills in Ukrainian and English.


Responsibilities:


  • Take ownership of upholding and managing brand messaging consistency for Ukraine's IMSMA Core and information management products, working closely with the Country Programme Team.
  • Collaborate on the design and arrangement of communication tools for mine action, including GIS products, infographics, and animations, by defining project requirements and schedules.
  • Transform abstract ideas into easily comprehensible visual data concepts, contributing innovative strategies to engage a diverse audience across various digital platforms.
  • Revise and enhance existing IMSMA Core maps, web maps, and dashboards in Ukraine while creating graphic materials for the IMSMA Core portal and Survey123.
  • Generate a range of deliverables, including maps, infographics, animations, reports, and press releases, aligning messaging standards with the organization's stakeholders and ensuring high-quality, error-free content that caters to the information needs of the audience.


Qualifications:


To thrive in this role, you should possess:

  • Effective communication skills in both spoken and written Ukrainian, as well as a functional grasp of English, are prerequisites.
  • A bachelor's degree in fields like Geographic Information Systems, Geography, or related disciplines forms the foundational educational requirement.
  • Proficiency in utilizing the ESRI/ArcGIS platform is mandatory, and experience with tools like Mapbox, Carto, AutoCAD, or QGIS is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud applications and expertise in front-end design languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and mapping languages like Arcade are advantageous.
  • The capacity to translate complex technical concepts into easily digestible information for non-technical audiences and a proven history of productive collaboration within remote project teams are highly regarded.
