We are seeking an Information Management Advisor to play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of the Ukraine Information Management system for humanitarian mine action. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders, delivering training, ensuring IM standardization, and supporting data management activities, ultimately contributing to the expansion of humanitarian mine action efforts in Ukraine. Travel to Kyiv may be required, and fluency in Ukrainian and proficiency in English or Russian are essential.


Responsibilities:


  • The role involves close collaboration with the GICHD Country Programme Team to understand the information management needs of the Mine Action program in Ukraine and to design processes and tools that address these requirements effectively.
  • The Information Management Advisor is responsible for coordinating the deployment and maintenance of IMSMA Core in Ukraine, ensuring its implementation aligns with established structures and SOPs.
  • This position also entails offering Information Management and GIS support to the Ukrainian National Mine Action Authority (NMAA), state entities involved in mine action, and various humanitarian mine action partners, while also conducting capacity assessments and providing relevant training.
  • The Advisor will play a pivotal role in developing an IM work plan based on assessment results, assisting with its implementation, and monitoring progress. They will also contribute to the development and review of IM strategy, NMAS, and SOPs.
  • Beyond this, the role includes responsibilities such as coordinating with relevant stakeholders, ensuring the availability of necessary hardware and software, and facilitating data collection, management, analysis, and information sharing for humanitarian implementing partners in Ukraine.


Qualifications:


To thrive in this role, you should possess:

  • The ideal candidate should possess a university degree in Computer Science, GIS, Information Management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in Mine Action, coupled with expertise in developing and implementing Information Management systems, is a prerequisite.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken in Ukrainian, along with a working knowledge of English or Russian, are essential qualifications.
  • The candidate must showcase their ability to lead workshops, deliver training courses, and effectively engage with diverse audiences.
  • Additionally, the candidate should be a confident writer and public speaker, capable of supporting IM standardization and data analysis, ultimately contributing to the success of humanitarian mine action efforts in Ukraine.
