We're looking for a Business Development Manager to drive growth across the Asia-Pacific region for an international Defence Company.
Strategic, customer-facing role responsible for developing new business, shaping opportunities, and securing long-term programmes across defence and national security customers. Based from Singapore, the role will operate as part of a regional team with an APAC focus.
The Role
Leading business development activities across APAC, working closely with government, military, and industry stakeholders to identify opportunities, influence requirements, and secure wins.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the APAC business development strategy
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities across defence and national security sectors
- Engage with MoD's, armed forces, and government stakeholders and partners to understand requirements and align solutions
- Lead capture activities for complex programmes, from early engagement through to contract award
- Position integrated solutions across integrated air and missile defence, autonomous systems, mission systems integration, and next-generation defence capabilities
- Build and maintain relationships with regional partners, primes, and local industry stakeholders
- Support bid strategy, proposal development, and customer engagement planning
- Collaborate with internal engineering and programme teams to ensure solutions meet operational and technical requirements
- Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting
- Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences, and customer engagements
Requirements
- Degree-qualified with 10+ years’ commercial experience in defence/aerospace
- Proven experience in business development, capture management, or programme delivery
- Track record of developing pipeline and securing complex deals
- Experience engaging with military, government, and defence industry stakeholders
- Strong understanding of defence procurement processes and programme lifecycles
- Willingness to travel extensively
Desirable experience
- Existing network within APAC
- Experience working within or alongside defence primes or system integrators
- Background in air defence, autonomous systems, mission systems, or integrated defence solutions
- Familiarity with localisation, industrial partnerships, and regional delivery models
- Prior military or government experience
