Our client is expanding their presence in Asia and is looking for a talented Forward Deployed Engineer / Software Engineer to join the team in South Korea. This is a full-time, permanent role working directly with our customers and partners, with regular travel to our headquarters in Finland.

The role

In this position, you’ll be the technical front line for customers using our clients' solutions.

• Deploy, configure, and integrate applications into operational customer environments
• Build tools and prototypes—GIS utilities, dashboards, alerting systems—to streamline mission workflows
• Train and support analysts, operators, and mission planners
• Provide first-line technical support and ensure smooth mission execution
• Deliver real operational insights back to our Finland HQ to shape product development and roadmap priorities

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering, field operations, and customer success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience or a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace, or a related field
• Strong proficiency in Python, RESTful APIs, and cloud platforms
• Familiarity with EO data formats such as GeoTIFF, STANAG, HDF5, and GIS tools like ArcGIS, QGIS, ATAK
• Ability to design and implement data pipelines, dashboards, and alerting systems
• Experience with satellite mission planning or operational workflows
• Fluent English and excellent communication/problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel internationally, particularly to Finland HQ

Additional

• Background in aerospace, satellite operations, SAR, or broader EO systems
• Experience in defense, disaster response, ISR, or civil security domains
• Prior customer-facing field engineering or technical support experience
• Familiarity with secure or government operational environments
• Project management and multi-stakeholder coordination skills
