Business Development Director

Saudi Arabia

Business Development is responsible for defining and executing the company’s growth strategy in Saudi Arabia, with a primary focus on the Defence sector.


This role will lead regional business development activities, including go‑to‑market strategy, pipeline development, key account management, partner ecosystems, and team growth. You will play a pivotal role in expanding the company’s global footprint, delivering mission‑critical systems and services to military and defence customers.


The company is well‑established in the region, with an existing install base that provides a strong foundation for sustainable growth. A full expatriate package is offered, alongside a performance‑based bonus structure.


Key responsibilities


• Lead and accelerate the growth of the company’s portfolio within the Kingdom

• Build and manage long‑term, trusted relationships with military end users, OEMs, systems integrators, and local partners

• Identify and capitalise on near‑term opportunities (“quick wins”), while developing strategic, long‑term accounts

• Own revenue targets and be accountable for forecasting, pipeline management, and deal closure

• Create and execute account plans, campaign strategies, and regional marketing initiatives

• Act as a senior commercial representative, engaging with customers at executive and flag‑officer level to present, negotiate, and close complex deals

• Maintain a detailed understanding of the company’s systems and services, clearly articulating value propositions and use cases

• Provide structured feedback to product and delivery teams to enhance solutions and improve the customer experience

• Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure successful delivery, implementation, and ongoing managed services support


Skills and experience


The successful candidate will demonstrate:


• A proven track record selling complex software or systems into the defence and military sector in the GCC

• Experience engaging senior military leadership and key defence decision‑makers

• Strong background in building and executing regional business development or sales strategies

• Experience building, leading, and managing sales or BD teams across direct and partner‑led models

• Expertise in managing large bids, tenders, and long sales cycles, with accurate forecasting and governance

• Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder‑management skills


Background and qualifications


• Minimum 10 years’ experience selling into the Defence industry

• Degree in Engineering, Management, or a related discipline

• Arabic is desirable

• Prior military service is highly desirable but not essential
