Data Integration Engineer

Farnborough, United Kingdom

Our client, a leader in the defence software industry, is looking for a highly skilled Data and Systems Integration Engineer to join their team. This role is integral to accelerating the upgrade of their cutting-edge platform, leveraging the latest in data integration and AI technologies.


You’ll collaborate with a diverse team of 10+ engineers and work closely with the product team across Europe to deliver innovative solutions that meet the highest standards of the defence industry. This role is a 12-month hybrid contract with occasional visits required to Hampshire, UK. The day rate is £500 per day (outside IR35) and they are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.


Key responsibilities


  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data and system integration solutions to support platform upgrades.
  • Work with Apache NiFi to enable seamless data flow across complex systems.
  • Leverage your understanding of AI technologies to enhance integration processes and improve system performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Europe, including engineers and product managers, to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system integration issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all solutions meet industry regulations and standards, particularly in the defence sector.


Skills and experience

  • Proven experience in data integration and system integration roles.
  • Hands-on expertise with Apache NiFi.
  • Solid understanding of AI technologies and their application in system integration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with the defence or software industry is highly advantageous.
