We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Implementation Consultant with 6-7 years of experience specializing in Azure DevOps or GitLab to lead the design, automation, and deployment of CI/CD pipelines for a major government project in Saudi Arabia. This is a 10-month contract opportunity, onsite in Saudi Arabia, offering the chance to work on a high-impact, large-scale digital transformation initiative.

Applicants must have IQAMA or be eligible for a Business Visa.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitLab.
• Automate the build, test, and deployment processes for cloud-based applications.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to streamline software delivery.
• Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate using Kubernetes where applicable.
• Ensure best practices for version control, pipeline efficiency, and deployment automation.
• Troubleshoot pipeline issues and improve system reliability and performance.
• Document processes, configurations, and workflows for knowledge transfer and continuity.

Skills and experience

• 5-7 years of hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or GitLab for CI/CD pipeline implementation.
• Strong proficiency in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes preferred).
• Experience in infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Bicep.
• Solid understanding of source control (Git) and modern software development workflows.
• Expertise in automating deployments for cloud-based and hybrid environments.
• Proven ability to work on large-scale, complex projects in regulated environments (government or enterprise experience is a plus).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Desirable skills

• Experience working on government or public sector projects.
• Certification in Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or equivalent.
• Familiarity with GitLab Runners, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure Container Registry (ACR).
