Data Architect

United Arab Emirates

Are you an experienced Data Architect looking to shape the foundations of secure, mission-critical technology?

We are hiring on behalf of a client seeking a hands-on Senior Data Architect to help establish and evolve a shared data platform supporting multiple products and deployment environments.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of the architecture behind secure, resilient and high-performance data platforms. You will work across demanding on-premise environments, including air-gapped, disconnected and mission-critical deployments, creating a trusted data foundation for operational systems, analytics and AI-enabled capabilities.

The role

As Senior Data Architect, you will:

  • Research, design and lead the development of a shared data platform that can adapt across multiple products and deployment environments.
  • Define and promote robust architectural patterns for data warehouses, data lakes and wider data management.
  • Architect and guide the implementation of data pipelines supporting operational, analytical and AI workloads.
  • Establish architecture standards and schema management practices for structured, semi-structured, unstructured, time-series, geospatial and binary data.
  • Design solutions for on-premise, air-gapped, disconnected, low-latency and security-sensitive environments.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure technical delivery aligns with the wider strategy and product roadmap.
  • Provide architectural direction while remaining close to the practical implementation of the platform.

What you will bring

  • At least eight years’ professional experience in data engineering, software architecture or a related discipline.
  • Strong expertise in data architecture, platform design and data management.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
  • Knowledge of distributed processing technologies, messaging and integration patterns, and orchestration tools.
  • Experience in data retention, archival, lifecycle management and long-term data stewardship.
  • A good understanding of data governance, security architecture, access controls, auditing and compliance.
  • A Master’s degree, or equivalent qualification, in computer science or a related field.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to different stakeholders.
  • A flexible, practical approach and the ability to perform effectively in changing, high-pressure project environments.
  • Upper-intermediate or higher written and spoken English.
