We’re building advanced tools to defend the integrity of personal media content and help enforce digital consent at scale. This role sits at the core of that mission: working on-device and close to the metal to ensure our technology remains fast, private, and invisible to the end user yet powerful enough to make a global impact.
We’re looking for an engineer with strong systems-level skills and a deep understanding of media processing on mobile platforms. If you thrive in ambiguity, are excited to work with machine learning workflows on edge devices and want to shape the foundational code behind a new layer of digital trust we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll do
• Design and implement performant media processing pipelines for mobile and embedded platforms
• Work with pixel-level and encoded image data to embed and extract imperceptible signals
• Collaborate closely with ML engineers to optimise inference pipelines for real world conditions
• Integrate cross-platform tooling that handles media in diverse formats (still and moving)
• Help define the architectural and strategic direction of our on-device technology stack
• Tackle edge-case bugs and performance bottlenecks in constrained environments
What we’re looking for:
• Strong programming skills in at least one systems-level language (e.g., C++, Rust)
• Significant experience with image processing in a production context, particularly on mobile hardware (iOS and/or Android)
• Solid understanding of ML inference workflows, from data preparation to output interpretation
• Experience handling media data at scale, especially across multiple formats (image, video, audio)
• Ability to work through undefined problems and contribute to technical direction in uncharted territory
Bonus points
• Hands-on experience with CUDA or GPU-accelerated computing
• Knowledge of vector search, quantised model deployment, or ML inference optimisation
• Background in colour science, image encoding, or signal-level media processing
• Familiarity with WebAssembly or secure on-device data workflows
What you’ll get
• A chance to work at the intersection of privacy, security, and digital rights
• A technically rigorous environment where your decisions shape product outcomes
• Full flexibility on working location and hours
• Competitive salary and early-stage equity
• The opportunity to contribute to real change building tools that serve vulnerable users and challenge the status quo in online safety
