We are working with a high-growth, engineering-led organisation developing advanced command and control (C2) and autonomous mission systems for defence and security applications in the GCC.
As part of continued expansion, they are looking to appoint a C2 Autonomous Systems Architect to lead the design and integration of next-generation systems that connect autonomous platforms, sensors, and decision-making tools into a unified operational capability.
The role
A senior, hands-on position focused on the architecture and integration of C2 systems that enable and control autonomous platforms across land and joint environments.
You will play a key role in shaping how uncrewed systems, sensors, and data flows are orchestrated through a central command layer, ensuring systems are operationally effective, scalable, and aligned to real-world mission needs.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of C2 systems supporting autonomous and semi-autonomous operations
- Define how autonomous platforms (UAS, UGV) integrate into the wider command and control ecosystem
- Translate mission and operational requirements into scalable system architectures and control frameworks
- Design and manage data flows, interfaces, and interoperability between sensors, platforms, and command layers
- Support the integration of ISR feeds, communications systems, and autonomous assets into a unified operational picture
- Contribute to real-time decision support, tasking, and control mechanisms for autonomous systems
- Work closely with software, AI, and communications teams to ensure end-to-end system performance
- Support system testing, validation, and deployment in operational environments
- Engage with end-users to ensure solutions are intuitive, effective, and mission-ready
What we’re looking for
- Strong experience in C2 systems architecture and integration
- Experience working with or integrating autonomous systems (UAS, UGV, or similar) into mission environments
- Deep understanding of how data, control, and decision-making layers interact in operational systems
- Ability to translate operational concepts into technical architectures
- Experience defining interfaces, data models, and system integration frameworks
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with defence or government end-users
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, R&D-driven environments
Technical exposure
- Command & Control (C2 ) architectures
- Autonomous systems integration (UAS, UGV, uncrewed platforms)
- ISR systems and sensor fusion (EO/IR, radar, data feeds)
- Data integration, middleware, and API-driven architectures
- Tactical communications and networking
- Edge computing and real-time data processing
Desirable
- Experience with AI/ML-driven decision support or autonomy frameworks
- Understanding of system engineering lifecycles (V-model, MBSE)
- Experience integrating multi-domain autonomous systems
- Exposure to defence programmes in the UAE or wider GCC
