We are looking for an experienced and passionate senior Infrastructure Systems Engineer to join the C4I applications development team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. 

Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable and secure infrastructure solutions across physical, virtual, and containerized platforms 
• Develop fault-tolerant and highly available infrastructure designs to meet mission-critical SLAs 
• Design and implement 24/7 operational centers for mission-critical environments 
• Perform capacity planning for compute, storage, and network resources 
• Lead the design and deployment of virtualization solutions and container platforms 
• Lead the design and deployment of infrastructure monitoring platforms 
• Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies for on-premises and hybrid/cloud environments 
• Support the System Engineering team in the design of C4I features relating to the communications domain 
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams and technical design documentation 
• Integrate COTS and custom-built hardware and software into military networks 
• Support identification and management of risks and opportunities, including de-risk of system design activities 
• Work with development and deployment teams to ensure smooth rollout and sustainment of infrastructure systems across environments 
• Collaborate with and report to the Communication System Engineering Manager 

Requirements

• Qualification: PhD, Masters or Bachelors - Computer Engineer / Software Engineer / Electronic Engineer / Telecommunications Engineer / Mathematics 
• 8+ years of experience with Infrastructure Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, preferably in defense or government sectors 
• Proven expertise in infrastructure design emphasizing fault-tolerant, secure, load balancing and high-availability principles 
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing geographically distributed systems 
• Proven expertise in designing enterprise-grade and/or tactical data centers, including topologies such as spine-leaf architecture 
• Strong knowledge of network design, including LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, VXLAN and Docker networking concepts 
• Deep experience with hypervisors and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware ESXi/vCenter, KVM) 
• Deep experience with container technologies and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, LXD) 
• Deep Experience with infrastructure monitoring platforms (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Splunk) for monitoring system performance, availability, and capacity metrics 
• Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms, preferably on government compliant environments, including the implementation of hybrid/on-prem to cloud connectivity 
• Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies 
• Experience with PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) including the implementation and management of Certificate Authorities and integration of PKI with infrastructure components 
• Solid background in disaster recovery planning, backup solutions, and data replication methods, including RTO/RPO objectives 
• Ability to build excellent working relationships with team members and external departments, customers and other key stakeholders 
• Be able to communicate with all levels of the project and provide technical information to stakeholders in a clear technical and non-technical documentation 
• System thinking and ability to see the big picture 
• Flexible attitude, ability to perform under pressure 
• Good level of spoken and written English language (upper-intermediate) 

Nice-to-have experience: 

• Knowledge of requirements management tools and databases (e.g., DOORS) 
• Familiarity with DoD networking standards and MIL-STD technologies 
• Familiarity with network emulation platforms (e.g., EVE-NG, GNS3) 
• Familiarity with NIST 800-53 controls, ISO27001, Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and application of DISA STIGs 
• Familiar with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code approaches
