As the Chief Systems Engineer, you will serve as the senior technical authority for system development and integration of Software on a deployed C4I program in the United Arab Emirates. You will define and guide system and software architectural decisions, interface with stakeholders, manage requirements, and ensure the delivery of a robust, scalable, and secure system solution. The system architecture includes in-house developed components, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products, and bespoke solutions provided by subcontracted vendors. You will oversee the successful integration and delivery of these elements into a coherent and reliable system, working in close coordination with the Chief Software Engineer to maintain consistency with the software baseline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Manage system and subcontractor deliverable requirements
- Identify and maintain a list of program risks and their impact to the program
- Perform system engineering analyses including trade studies, use case development, requirements definition and derivation, interface definition, and requirement validation and verification
- Oversee deployment of systems, working closely with development teams to ensure proper integration and compliance with functional requirements and performance objectives
- Lead the System Requirements Reviews (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR), and System Deliverable Functions (Demonstrations and Sell-Off)
- Collaborate with senior management to align systems engineering initiatives with broader organisational objectives
- Developing and executing strategic plans for system development, optimisation, and integration
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation of system architectures, designs and operational procedures
- Ensuring the systems adhere to industry regulations, standards, and compliance requirements
- Establishing Key performance indicators for system performance and reliability
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. Instead of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Broad knowledge of project management
Preferred Skills:
- Proficient in working with engineering, quality, and operations to oversee Systems, hardware and software development
- Experience with presenting and interfacing with internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to author various types of project documentation
- Familiar with project management methodologies, including planning, resource allocation and overseeing large-scale projects
- Experience with Agile and DevOps execution
- Experience working with government contracts
- Proven ability with emerging technologies and to adapt to evolving industry trends
